Stadhuis Purmerend
Like many public administrations, the town hall of Purmerend was faced with the task of working openly with the public and, at the same time, cutting costs. The reduction in space for the administration also offered the opportunity for a complete redesign of the organisation. Casper Schwarz Architekten designed an office landscape for the project that supports processes, promotes cooperation and creates a new, innovative environment. The idea of giving each individual, each area and each manager the option of working in an environment designed to fit their current activity was key to its implementation.
The industrial loft style, with zones for personal workstations and areas that promote informal communication, as well as retreat spaces and a café, call attention to the new character of the town hall. Both employees and visitors are able to find places where they feel comfortable and welcome.
The spaces for communication and retreat were designed with ophelis docks.
